While a handful of speaker and timing loose ends are still getting tied down, the vast majority of the event is in place, including the following panels and speakers:

Dare to Dream: Developing Your Business Model
This session will explore what a business model is; why a strong model is absolutely critical to anyone interested in launching a new product, service, business, or social venture; and how to develop an effective business model. Participants will learn how to use Alex Osterwalder’s Business Model Canvas, a valuable one-page tool for generating and assessing business models. Desai Accelerator Information Session
Interested in participating in an accelerator as an intern or startup? Join the Desai Accelerator’s Managing Director and Desai alumni, who will describe the program experience and answer audience questions. The Desai Accelerator hosts a 7-month intensive program to support and grow scalable startups founded by U-M alumni. Program perks include a $25k investment, mentorship, interns, AWS credits, and more. The 2024 hybrid cohort will start on May 20 and run through December.

The Zell Lurie Institute hosts an annual Startup & VC Career Fair, connecting startups and venture capital firms with University of Michigan students seeking internships and full-time employment. Connect with some of the top startups, VC firms, and corporations local to metro Detroit and beyond.

Italia Innovation Program
Embark on an unforgettable three-week countrywide exploration of the future of the Italian economy and society, featuring a world-class faculty, Italian business leaders, and a diverse cohort of global scholars. Participants will engage with leading brands and institutions, receiving mentorship from experts like John Paul Rollert, Stewart Thornhill, William Peduto, and others. The program includes company visits, hands-on seminars, and industry insights, fostering understanding and inspiring project work directly developed with leaders of prominent Made in Italy business sectors. Past experiences have included challenges with brands such as Zegna, Ferragamo, Gucci, Barilla, Lavazza, and illy Coffee. Details and application can be found here. Sports Business Association VC Competition
The MBA SBA VC Investment Competition will take place virtually on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 11am to 4:30pm ET and will consist of two rounds. In Round 1, teams of 3-6 students will have the opportunity to present to esteemed MBA SBA alumni currently working in companies such as CrossFit, Fanatics, Web3 Pro, and Barclays. The competition heats up in Round 2, where the top three teams will present to executives in the sports VC ecosystem from SeventySix Capital Sports Advisory, Drive by DraftKings, Superfly, and KB Partners.
