✨ Michigan Business Challenge Semifinals, Friday (1/20), 1-4 pm24 teams (eight each in the impact, innovation, and invention tracks) will compete in the Michigan Business Challenge semifinals. Competing teams will each give a seven-minute presentation describing their company's solution to a pressing market need or pain, an estimation of the market size, and their financial assumptions. A panel of judges will then ask them questions for ten minutes to evaluate their pitches, before choosing 12 teams (four in each track) to advance to the finals. Michigan Investment Challenge Winners AnnouncedThe Zell Lurie Institute hosted the final round of the annual Michigan Investment Challenge last Friday, in which student teams analyze and perform due diligence on a set of actively fundraising startups. The teams then prepare an investment memo recommending investing in one of the startups and present it to a panel of professional VC judges. This year, the winning graduate student team consisted of Andrew Haeger (MBA, '24), Ben Kramer (MBA, '24), Ben Sack (MBA, '24), and Taylor Brown (MBA, '24), who, along with Annika Van Gilder (MBA, '24) and Sam Todd (eMBA, '23), two finalists recognized for their individual contributions, will now represent Michigan at a regional Venture Capital Investment Competition in February.
